July 12, 2021 [Favorite Comic]
One of my all time favorite comic has to be "Yotsuba&!" by Kiyohiko Azuma. The original work is in Japanese, however, it has been translated to multiple languages across many countries. The story depicts the everyday adventures of an energetic, curious, young girl named Yotsuba, learning about the struggles and joys of life with the help of her adopted father and friendly neighbors.
I love this comic because the story is simple, yet very wholesome. The dialogue and storyline is lighthearted, perfect for a lazy day in to read. The character's expressions are also very comical and amusing, adding some humorous tone to the comic book.
The art in this comic book is also nothing less of beautiful. Although the characters are drawn very simply, the backgrounds are very detailed and realistic, bringing the readers into the everyday life of people in Japan.
I really like slice of life comics, the kind that aren't really about anything, but are still enjoyable. Thank you for sharing.
