June 28, 2021 [Let's Eat!]

One of my favorite food is Hotteok! If you guys don't know, Hotteok is a famous street food from Korea. It is kind of like a pancake filled with brown sugar and various nuts, but a lot of people like to be creative with their own filling. Some people change the original filling to chocolate, cheese or custard. Check out the recipe here! 

I first encountered the food back when I was in high school. There was a small stall selling Korean food near my high school and I would often visit after school was done for the day. I remembered the lady had just finished a whole batch of hotteok and she gave me one as a tester, since it was quite new on her menu. I remembered loving it so much that I often came back for her hotteok! 

Last year I was suddenly craving for some and tried to make it at home. My first attempt was an epic fail.. I was literally fighting with the dough and my mother came down to scold me because I was making a mess out of her precious kitchen. However, I did not give up and I once again went to battlefield with the notorious dough and finally won the battle! XD 

The end result turned out really good and I was so proud of myself!
